The ultimate pannier for workmanship, durability, and convenience.
#1 Sopris Llama Pack Systems come complete with Deluxe Panniers and start as low as $599.00 (with the Lumbar Saddle) – one price for everything you need to take your llama on the trail.
These Amish-sewn panniers are made of heavy-duty 1680 denier nylon, which is extremely resistant to abrasion. A double layer of ballistic cloth protects and reinforces the bottom of the panniers, while a durable nylon drawstring top keeps items securely inside the pannier. A convenient double-zippered exterior pocket (17" high, 8" wide x 3" deep) is located on each end of the pannier for storing personal gear, water, snacks, maps, and last-minute items, and the 1-1/2" Quick-Release buckles make lid closure a snap.
The pannier stabilizing bar distributes the weight along the length of the saddle, while also acting as a carrying handle and providing a weighing point. It can also be removed when the panniers are used with a frame-type pack saddle (strong metal thumb-press cam buckles easily adjust the horn straps).
Two Accessory Straps sewn on each pannier lid allow sleeping bags or other top loads to be tied length-wise on top of the loaded pannier, while the pannier lid itself can be used to secure top loads such as tent poles, sleeping bags, pads, etc.
Two detachable vertical compression straps run from one pannier bottom, up and over the top of both panniers (and top load) to the bottom of the opposite pannier. These compression straps compress the load and pull it in to the center of gravity. Two detachable stabilizing straps near the bottom of each pannier connect to the front and rear cinches to keep the pannier stable when the llama jumps, while two solid brass rings toward the bottom of each pannier are used to connect to the Sopris Rain Cover.
The most obvious difference between the Sopris Deluxe panniers and the Sopris Standard panniers is the generous, full-length zippered pocket located on each end of the each pannier. Other features found only on the Deluxe panniers include the double layer of ballistics cloth protecting the pannier bottoms and the two 1½" wide nylon webbing straps that are sewn around each pannier to increase their durability and structure.
If you are packing more than one llama, we suggest a combination of deluxe and standard pannier sets.
